Windshield wipers is a common problem that I see when some perform single sinawali.

One of the common problems that I see with single sinawali is that the training partners, instead of thinking in terms of angle striking, end up doing “windshield wiper” type of sinawali. This drives me crazy.
Invariably, the sticks do not connect due to this flaw. Additionally, the “windshield wiper” version of sinawali ingrains bad habits as far as striking is concerned.
Single sinawali is a great way of practicing striking at angles 1, 8, 2, and 9 (in that order). To engage in windshield wipers is a missed opportunity to train single sinawali properly. Additionally, the windshield wiper version of single sinawali is a great way to injure your elbows and shoulders.
Does this drive you bananas as well?
